LEASE ADDENDUM: Early Storage Agreement

I/We, the undersigned, agree to the Early Storage Agreement terms and conditions for

apartments, unit number

The terms and conditions for the Early Storage Agreement are subject to the following rules/stipulations:

  1. If the current resident presiding in the unit does not move out by the end of their lease date, this would prevent Nevins Real Estate Management from being able to give, the undersigned, possession to any part of the unit. Nevins Real Estate Management would take the proper steps to remove the holdover resident but this is done through a legal process. In this rare circumstance, it is the responsibility of the undersigned to find storage for their belongings until possession of the unit can be given. Nevins Real Estate Management does not provide compensation during the time period in which we attempt to vacate the apartment.

  2. The undersigned resident(s) will be allowed to move a limited amount of personal belongings into the apartment prior to the start date of the lease as indicated by the date below

  3. The undersigned is NOT permitted to reside in the apartment under this agreement nor will we be given access to the apartment or their belongings again until 12:00 PM on their move-in date

  4. The undersigned understands and agrees to take on all the liability when storing personal belongings in their future unit. After the storage items are dropped off and prior to the undersigned officially moving in, the door to their unit is often unlocked. Multiple people will have access to the unit and therefore the personal belongings be stored in the unit. Nevins Real Estate Management and its contractors will not be held responsible for the safety/security of items being stored early in the unit.

  5. The Undersigned understands and agrees to have their belongings placed in the center of one room designated by Nevins Real Estate Management office staff. These belongings must be covered with a protective covering (drop cloth, plastic, tarp, etc.) and must have clear, legible signage indicating what items should remain in the apartment for the lease year.

  6. The Undersigned understands and agrees that their personal belongings must not block access to any room or be placed against the walls

  7. The undersigned understands that storing personal belongings in the unit MAY PREVENT certain work from being completed in the apartment. Some of this work may include painting, cleaning, carpet cleaning/replacement, and/or repairs

  8. Upon termination of the lease, the undersigned understands and agrees to the responsibility of cleaning the apartment in accordance with guidelines set forth in the move-out packet despite the possibility of moving into an apartment that may not have met those standards. (Move-Out Cleaning Requirements Attached)

If all terms and conditions of this agreement are accepted, residents may officially store possessions in the unit as of:

12:00 PM

(KEYS OR PASSCODES MUST BE PICKED UP FROM OUR OFFICE. PLEASE CALL AHEAD FOR TIME AVAILABILITIES.)

NOTE: We HIGHLY DISCOURAGE people not to store their personal belongings in the unit prior to the start of their lease. We understand that circumstances do arise in which people NEED to store their personal belongings in the unit early. We will accommodate these needs; however, we do not encourage the decision
